The results from the trial were used by the finance and administration department of the company to promote VC usage and, at the same time, to introduce a nonessential air travel ban, which led to annualized cost savings of up to 40% on business as usual.
Results:
The company saved $AUD 62,362 was saved from avoided travel, 1,420 hr were not spent traveling, and almost 100,000 kg CO2e emissions were not released into the atmosphere from the use of eight VC units, during this trial. These savings resulted from 305 people choosing to use VC instead of traveling. Projection of the amount of savings goes up to $AUD 1.47 million annually.
